The weather is getting cooler, autumn is on its way and so are the school holidays.
With apples in season this recipe makes a great dessert and is easy to make. Children could easily make this one with some assistance.
6 to 8 large apples
1tsp whole allspice or 3 whole cloves
Preheat the oven to 200 Celsius degrees
Peel, core and cut apples into small pieces.
An adult may need to help with the cutting and peeling.
Place cut apples, allspice or cloves into a small casserole dish.
Cover and place in microwave on high for five minutes.
Ingredients for the crumble
60g unsalted softened butter
100g brown sugar
In a bowl add flour and butter.
Rub the butter and flour together to form pea size pieces, and then add in the sugar.
Remove the apples from the microwave.
Add the crumble mixture on top of the apples.
Bake in the oven for around 15 to 20 minutes or until crispy and brown on top.
Serve with ice cream or cream.
