How to cook a perfect rump steak

Turn up the heat on your cooking skills with these tips and tricks to cook the perfect rump steak each time.

1.Before cooking leave your steak at room temperature for 10 minutes.
2.Heat your griddle or frying pan over a high heat, until smoking hot.
3.Lightly brush the steak with a little olive oil and season with sea salt and freshly ground black pepper.
4.When you turn your steak add a knob of butter.Ensure that you don't place more than two steaks at a time and keep them spaced well apart.
5.Don't turn the steaks until good seared markings are achieved, then turn and cook other side.
6.When cooked place on a warm plate and allow to rest between 3 and 5 minutes.

Times for cooking the perfect Rump steak

Blue:1 minute each side
Rare:1 minutes each side
Medium rare:2 minutes each side
Medium:2 minutes each side
Medium-well done: 2 3 minutes each side.

Delicious served on its own or with chips and a Bearnaise sauce or a peppercorn sauce.
